Davis Mills commits to Stanford University

Mills may be listed as the fourth-ranked pro-style QB, the eighth-best player from Georgia and the No. 80 overall prospect in the country, per 247Sports' composite rankings, but he can also make plays with his feet. Mike Farrell of Rivals.com stated that this was "huge" for Stanford head coach David Shaw.

In addition to keeping plays alive thanks to his precocious pocket instincts, the 17-year-old has enough speed and elusiveness to gash defenses on the ground. Unless it's a totally busted protection, he'll keep his eyes downfield and always look to throw before he runs.

So Mills truly is a dual-threat field general whose 577 rushing yards and 14 scores as a junior were only eclipsed by his prowess as a passer. He averaged approximately 10 yards per attempt and threw 25 touchdowns to seven interceptions in 2015.

When watching footage of Mills picking apart opposing defenses, it's remarkable to see how developed he is in areas most QBs his age aren't. What stands out is his downfield accuracy and the effortless velocity he can generate.
