Start recruiting early
The sooner you start the recruiting process, the better. It's never too early to start, but it can be too late. Academic performance / requirements count form day one of freshman year. College coaches can begin sending letters to potential recruits as early as freshman year, and potential recruits can write, call, and visit college coaches at any time.

Coaches won't discover you
College coaches depend on verified information from trusted sources. Most coaches attend games and camps with a set list of student athletes they intend on evaluating, but not with the hopes of discovering new prospects. You need to be pro-active in getting your name, academic scores, and athletic achievements in front of coaches.

Take ownership
Student-athletes and their families are ultimately responsible for the recruiting process. Coaches can evaluate, assist, and serve as credible references, but they cannot get student- athletes scholarships.

Expand your horizons
NCAA Division I is not the only option for student athletes. There are hundreds of colleges and universities that offer financial packages, more then 85% of those opportunities fall outside of Division I. Great schools exist at all levels. Make sure you are looking at academics and athletics when choosing a school.

We signed up with TKO after a friend told us he believed our son could play college football if we did more to get him exposed to college coaches. TKO contacted and sent our son’s highlight tape to hundreds of coaches and immediately, the phone began to ring. One evening during the season five coaches reached out to our son within a 2 hour period. We later learned the reason for the attention that night was that TKO had re-packaged our son’s video and forwarded it to more coaches.
